I don’t see all of the acceptances and denials. But the few I’ve seen have been denied not because they don’t fit the profile of an ivymount student but because there is no space in the program.

OP, have you gotten accepted at Ivymount? Are you the OP from the private placement thread?

Because the funding for private placement comes through osse.

the non-public placement will have its own related service providers on its staff to implement the IEP. also, IME you may get a no from OSSE and still be able to move forward with the placement.

How are related services DCPS recommends delivered in a private placement setting? IE, if DCPS recommends 180min/month of OT would the private school's OT provider (ie, the in-house OT at KTS or whatever) follow that guideline or would a DCPS OT visit the child at school to deliver those services?

It can be taken away at any time that the data shows a lack of progress in that environment. If it isn't working, they won't continue to pay.

Got it. Vaguely related--once you have gotten the placement, how frequently is it readjudicated? Is it possible for it to be taken away at any IEP meeting? Annually? Tri-ennial?

There are no waitlists. We were asked what schools we would like the file sent to. We listed 5. The schools reached out to us if there was an open spot. If there wasn’t we were given denials. We were able to find a spot from our list. But if they all had said no OSSE would continue sending the file out until they sound a spot that accept our child. You don’t get to just sit around and wait for a spot at your preferred school, you take what is open.

Mine took months. It depends on how quickly they can get assigned an OSSE employee and schedule the meeting.
