This is a great review. Thanks.

My son is at Williamsburg, and they had it as part of “the wheel”. He didn’t get a choice in it. He liked it. They made pizza and some rolls and learned to see a button.

This isn't offered at my kid's middle school. I wish it was - I'd make him take it.

My TPMS magnet middle schooler took it and it's great!!

I don't think this class is offered at all MS in the county. Ours did not offer it. I did however take it back when I was in "junior high" here in the county.

None of the electives are very challenging. Take what sounds good.

My academically gifted son took this class, he loved it, and it instilled a life-long love of cooking as a hobby.

My DS ended up taking this class when he didn’t get his first-choice elective, which would have been a more rigorous class. He got some experience with cooking and sewing, and enjoyed it. Yes, it was an easy class, but he learned through the experience that it can be good for mental health to have an easy class mixed in with all the hard ones.

It's the modern version of Home Ec.

This class is considered an easy 'A' and may not be challenging enough for your student. However, it may also be a nice break for them between more rigorous academics.
