It’s a long process and not every kid with one of those gets a Resource class that can help with organization.

Me too! We hired a neighbor who teaches high school in the neighboring town. We were so much happier with an individual who knew the curriculum than working with generic people who didn't know how MCPS wants students to answer questions.

Did you get personal service? We’re trying to decide what to do with our son who defintiely needs some support.

We've used teachers from neighboring schools. Most resource teachers and counselors will have a list.

We had one too years ago withy older DD. Best money we ever spent. Unfortunately, our tutor retried but having someone speak to our DD so we didn’t have to fight about his homework.

I agree with getting a teacher from a neighboring district. They’ll know the same content.

DH and I are very happy with DS’ executive function coach / tutor. It has definitely saved us familiar battles. DS responds much better to his tutor than he does to my husband or I.

If you send me an email I can send you our tutor’s contact information.

I think you’re looking for something more like an executive function coach for the organization issue.

Your best bet is to get a teacher from a neighboring school as a tutor.

Hello,
My 7th grader is falling behind and has become combative when I try to help. Does anyone have an in-person tutor in the Bethesda/Chevy Chase area?
Not Mathnasium or other companies as they don’t work on homework assignments. I spoke to them already.
Thank you.
