This. Your elbow will heal with rest.

Mine healed while benching my body weight. But you could not do pull-ups because any vertical pulls would badly aggravate it. You don’t need to stop all activity but you likely need to adjust what you are doing and add corrective exercises as needed. A good physical therapist should be able to figure it out. Mine explicitly told me that full rest was not even advisable and in fact I did heal while doing upper body workout 3-4 times a week.

Any advice on golfer's elbow? From the description above, I have that - I can barely lift anything - not weights, just a coffee cup or shopping bag - without pain along the inside of my elbow and arm.

I am the person who had the tennis elbow resolved with physical therapy. Braces did nothing for me. I would also strongly advise against doctors. Unless something is broken or needs to be reattached you do not need a doctor. Their solutions are always either surgery or steroid injection. Both of which are completely avoidable if you can find someone who understands movement and can help you correct any issues with it and address muscle imbalances.

I tried PT but when I did the exercises at home I always overdid it and it ended up hurting more. Wearing a brace helped but what really was the biggest help was diclofenac ointment, recommended by my doctor. Available OTC at all drug stores. The box I bought at CVS said "Arthritis Pain Relief" in big letters. Hello, old age!

Is it outside or inside of the elbow?

Inside is golfers elbow. Outside is tennis elbow. Golfers elbow is more common for people who lift weights. They require different exercises to address. They are difficult injuries. Golfers elbow may not go away for years, or ever. I got golfers elbow from lifting weights. It still hurts a year later, although a little less.

My physio managed to fully resolve mine, but it took about 6 months to completely go away. I am very into lifting and never stopped, but I had to adjust my workouts while it was flared up. You need the physio to pinpoint what is driving it and address that. In my case it was driven by a lot of tightness in my upper back which was driven by dysfunctional movement patterns around my shoulder. He did dry needling to release the muscle and gave me exercises to correct how I move my shoulder.

Ug, probably have tennis elbow. While waiting for my appt, any suggestions from folks? I used to lift weights when I was in the office (gym in the building0 and two of the exercises were those little wrist moves --- I have started doing that again (since I've not been doing it for ...3 years now). I am doing a couple others. But any other suggestions?
