Agree, but given that 60% of the seats go to Asians, the facts indicate otherwise.

They mean it disadvantages Asians in the same way that UVA going to co-ed disadvantaged males.

Correct. The number of 9th grade kids at TJ who took algebra in 8th grade has gone from single digits to triple digits.

I think part of that was you had more students applying with lower level math skills who were told to try to get their golden ticket. Before the changes, many students were told that they weren't going to cut it at TJ so they never applied.

And Whites, unless you think that White students are getting experience points based on race or SES or URM status.

Good thing that some of DC's teachers are using standards based grading. Don't really have to worry about TJ and MS GPA.

So TJ doesn't know if you are in Geometry or Alg 2 for example?

I think the current school verifies the GPA and the admissions committee sees nothing beyond that, including the particular classes.

Does the admissions committee see the grades of all classes or just the core classes they use to calculate the MS GPA? Does the committee see individual class grades?
