We ski together a lot in the winter. Chair talk is the best.

I’m learning Spanish on Duolingo. Kid is learning in school. He keeps me accountable and likes that he knows a lot more than me and can teach me something. We talk to each other and he quizzes me. I’ve been slacking lately and he gave me an assignment and deadline to catch up. We also sit and watch cartoons dubbed in dismiss together.

My son is 13 so no longer a tween but food and tv.
We are currently watching a show together, 1-2 22 minute episodes per night. It's fun, leads to inside jokes, is a motivator to finish homework and work work.
We also love the same kinds of food, so sushi and baking and stuff like that can be nice.
We talk, but I can't predict that anymore. You have to take it when you can get it!

my older daughter loves fashion. I’ll take her and her sister thrifting or to the mall. Also cooking, but I also don’t much enjoy cooking. I spend time with them to encourage/gently push them with their instruments and lessons,. I host sleepovers, etc. I’ll take them for long walks through the city, semi force them to go to museums, occasionally to a musical at the Kennedy center. I love to be spontaneous and have taken them spontaneously to nyc and to the del shore without Dad.

He’s back to pokeman go or whatever it is called. So I will drive him around to catch Pokémon, etc. I love the car conversations!

Wow OP, you’re brave!
I stand in the cold night for an hour or two every week while my DD has her evening horseback riding lesson.
I’m sensitive to cold and have Reynaud’s syndrome so this is a big deal!
But then we chat in the car ride back and she’s all happy and relaxed and shares so much more.

Watch shows or videos I do not enjoy... but I do enjoy the time with them!
family shows/bake/puzzles/board games/and walks are some that we both enjoy...
If driving them everywhere counts that too...
Another one is that I read the books my kids are reading for school sometimes so that we can chat about them/I can offer help or support. I also enjoy reading the classic books that I would never pick myself...

Same. Nothing too strenuous but it's good exercise and we usually talk a bit on the drive or grabbing lunch/dinner.

Puzzles. It has been our thing since he was small. Typical boy (kid really) and can be hard to engage but when we start one, we work in it together for a week or so. I can see us doing this many years into the future.

Keep this lighthearted...
I'm mom to a tween boy who does more "male bonding" stuff with dad lately, and need to look harder for stuff to connect on. He loves horror and slasher movies and is counting the days until Scream 6. So I just agreed to a movie marathon of the first 5 so we can hit the movie theater on opening day. I used to love that stuff myself, so I'm sure I can get into it but the things we do for our kids!
What silly things do you find yourself enjoying becuase your kids do?
