Sort of.

The Santa Fe is the Hilander competetor for Hyundai. While it's a great car it's not as big and won't carry as much stuff in the cargo area.

If someone is looking for a CRV, Rav 4 size then yes Hyundai Tuscon excellent choice. Except in Denver where they are stolen so often Hyundai is not sending dealer's cars. Because it is easy to steal a Hyundai and Hyundai does not want to spend the money to fix the issue.

We are on our third Highlander so safe to say we like them, quite a lot. Agree with earlier PP though, IMO nothing beats the value per dollar for Highlanders, but when you’re talking a 1.5-2x price tag, that proposition wanes.

I am interested in the unveiling since I like the Highlander except that it is a bit cramped for my family. I am put off by the rumors of the price nearing 60k. At that price point I'd start to look into mid-luxury suvs.

I can’t get past the name “Grand” Highlander.

Jeep pretty much owns the “grand” prefix, and I detest Grand Cherokees, but they’ve had that moniker like 50 years. Toyota needs to come up with another name. Call it something else.

Anyone else eager to see this unveiled next month? Supposed to be bigger (as in longer) than the current Highlander, but not so big that it competes with the full-size Sequoia.

I know it's not going to be an exciting car to drive or compete with luxury SUVs... but the idea of a bigger highlander sounds very appealing to me given the size of the current third row is a nonstarter for us. We have an 8-year-old American made SUV now that I can't wait to dump because it's been a huge money pit. I like the general size and look of the Hyundai Palisade and Jeep Grand Cherokee L, but the later gets terrible mileage and I still have a hard time buying a Hyundai SUV because I've driven a couple as rentals and they felt low qaulity at the time.

The new Honda Pilot has apparently been up-sized a bit as well, so another model we will take a closer look at.
