I'm not sure that sheltering in place because of some unspecified event that happened nearby the school is a sign of the end times.

This wasn’t a false alarm. There were reports of gunshots. Admin acted appropriately. Just because it was found out to be fireworks doesn’t make this a false alarm.

Just came on to thank OP for putting a date in her title - it's sad we even have to think like that!!!

Blair did the right thing and immediately went into lockdown! it was fireworks across the street and not gunshots. I’m not sure how we are ‘desensitized’, when they did the correct thing. Thankfully it was a false alarm.

I'm concerned that we will become so desensitized to these "false alarms" that if/when the real thing happens, people will think it's another "false alarm", not take it seriously, and the results will be tragic.

My kid says now it's shelter in place, less serious than lockdown.

Ok. The incident happened across the street. Not on campus.

DD says rumors of stabbing across the street. And maybe a shooting.

Nope, came here to ask the same question. My DC didn't know either but I think it just started about 1:20.
