This has to be written by a man because it's exactly backwards. Not OP but when older women are bothered watching old men hit on young women, it's not because we miss the "high value" days of our youth when old creeps hit on us, it's because we remember how uncomfortable that made us when we didn't yet know how to navigate shutting it down. Nobody is jealous of the compliments from 45+ men who think college students want to hear about how they find them hot.

I’m in my late 30s and live in a college town. Do I think the college kids are cute? Yes. In no universe would I be remotely interested in knowing them or having sex with them.

I find people my own age - some a bit younger (down to late twenties) some older (to mid-fifties) to be attractive in a resonant way. Like, in a, gosh, I wonder what it would be like to sleep with that person kind of way.

When I was 26 I had a fling with a recently separated 43 yo man. He was attractive, wealthy, and doted over me. Honestly, the best physical relationship I’ve ever been in (late 30s now, married for 10 years). He was so into pleasing my every need which was opposite men of my age at the time who were all fairly selfish in bed. It made me realize what I wanted/needed from a sexual partner.

I'm not in my late 40s yet, but I'm definitely attracted to 21 year olds. I don't anticipate that changing in the next 5 years (or ever honestly). I don't drool over them to other 40 year olds because that's creepy, but I also don't drool over anyone publicly because that's creepy no matter the age. My spouse and I will talk about what local moms we think are hot, but only in the privacy of our home.

Attracted is not gross, drooling over is. By 45 you should know how not to leer or say inappropriate things just because your interest is engaged. Are young people sexually attractive? Yes. Should old people trumpet their attraction to them in public in a misguided attempt to prove they're still sexual beings? No.

Depends on the context. I don't see anything wrong with a 45-year-old admiring a 21-year-old aesthetically (e.g. saying they're hot, whatever) if that's what you mean by drooling over. If you mean flirting/hitting on them in real life, I think that's a bit gross. Although maybe I'm also a prude.
