My DD is applying to mostly schools with 25+% acceptance rates. Including the ones without bad weather: Whitman, Oregon (gray but not cold), Colorado, Colorado College, UCSB

Last year, Vandy had a little less than 25 percent for ed1 and 17 percent for Ed total. Again, not released yet, but likely much lower this year due to increase in app ( in part because of that 25 percent rate last year). People jump on any perceived admissions advantage.

Wake was at 20 percent last year and will be significantly lower than that this year as they are reporting a sizable increase in applications. Not sure where Richmond was last year but they also had a sizable increase in apps this year.

I would suggest Clemson, which is predicting a 35 percent acceptance rate this year.

Wesleyan (I know it is below 25% but if your student has a shot and Brown and Vanderbilt it might be a good hard target)

Looking for some more target schools…kid likes mid sized (nothing less than 2k or more than 20-25k). Ideally somewhat good climate though I know that’s a tall order. Likes Vanderbilt, Brown, Claremont Colleges (for example, among others).

Any good ideas? Not DMV schools-does not want to be that close!
