Why does any show of pride or acknowledgement for someone being successful automatically equal insecurity? It's more damning to not be able to celebrate anything without having it be assumed as hubris or haughtiness. You're the same person who calls Asian people insecure for being proud of having representation in movies and seeing people like them could be successful.

Contrary to most of what's being said on here, I think this is great news for St. Albans students and parents. They're not paying all that money for no reason, not that this level of success should be expected since it's incredibly rare. But it's also a slight confidence boost for some, knowing someone who walked the same halls as them had an esteemed career

Clearly he's a smart and capable guy, he went to Duke and did well in the business world. But it's too early to judge if he should be an alumnus St. As is proud of or not. Let's see what type of job he does, of course that will be subjective

No, Obamacare was not for the poor. The poor were being deported by the millions, betraying all campaign promises. I have no idea what Zients did or didn't but wan't much that good.

Wow congrats to him. It's no surprise though, Jeff is often cited as one of the sharpest people in Washington from both sides of the aisle. This could be predicted earlier on too, he was summa cum laude at Duke, made a fortune in business, was brought in by Obama to fix the ACA website when it crashed, oh and he was on Fortune's 40 Richest Under 40 with Zuckerberg and later served on the Board of Directors of Facebook. He has a great combination of private and public sector success, and I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a run for President at some point. It's a great testament for St. Albans that he had some of his foundational educational experiences from there.

Yesterday it was announced Jeff Zients would be promoted to Chief of Staff of the White House, which is often considered the second most powerful position in Washington behind the President. As Chief of Staff, Zients will be the Head of the Executive Office of the US and the highest member of the President's Cabinet. For people who don't care much about politics, it's the equivalent of being Hand of the King in Game of Thrones (i.e. Tyrion Lannister, smart and influential but not in the spotlight). It's awesome to see someone from St. Albans make it all the way to the top in such a crowded field!
