Why does everyone rely on someone else to pay for everything? I don't get it. If your health is important to you, spend money on it. Who cares if the sleep study is covered or not. If you feel you need it so you can work on your health and longevity then go get it and pay the bill. All the other money you waste on stuff (entertainment, fancy cell phone, cable/internet packages, etc.) could be spent on more important things. Please don't lie and pretend you don't waste money. If you can't afford to pay for the sleep study out of pocket you don't deserve to get it. Services and time aren't free. Be responsible for yourself at least once in your life instead of complaining and wanting someone else to cover your expenses.

I went to Thailand once with my in-laws. My sister in-law fell and broke her arm. She was in and out of the hospital after getting x-rays, a cast, and meds in no time. Total cost was $300 with no insurance. I just want to gouge my eyes out just trying to figure out if I can even get a GD sleep study paid for by insurance.

They have EXCELLENT health care. Prior to the pandemic, I was flying yearly to Bangkok to do a complete health review, blood, stress, cardiac tests and more.

Total cost $700 and sent electronically to my doctor.

The same procedures at Sloan Kettering would cost 10’s of thousands.

I went to Tijuana for dental work as well as weight loss and plastic surgery.

Don’t be so ignorant of excellent cost effective medical care outside the USA!

Not healthcare specifically, but the US doesn't invest in its people or its infrastructure and the idea that it's wasteful and foolish to do so is seen as a legitimate political position.

I wish I had pursued an additional citizenship years ago.

So yes, we are planing to move overseas as soon as possible.

Likely to Europe, if we can find any possible way.

I have very good healthcare, and yet mental health coverage is so incredibly difficult to find. Doctors only want to take new patients from a hospital setting.

What country has amazing mental health coverage.

Change insurance companies. My DH's sleep study was covered. I'm not saying that our insurance company is amazing but they do answer the phone.

Ohh yeah, I also forgot to add - the health group in charge of the sleep study also refers you to their website to chat to a representative for more information regarding billing and insurance. Of course there's no one chatting and you have to wait hours to get a message back according to their chat program. So insane.
