That sounds way more likely than an exorcism. It is not at all uncommon for Catholics to have a home blessing ceremony when they move into a new house or, in this case, when something bad has happened there.

I thought the Vatican had to approve exorcism, and it was rarely approved. The process takes many months, if not longer, because clear and consistent evidence must be presented for an exorcism to be approved.
You're conflating the exorcism of a person with that of a home. You don't need to go through all of that for a home. It's far less complicated.
