Just curious how you think you are going to hide this much weight loss from your family? They are going to notice a change in eating habits and the weight loss. Seems a better thing to be upfront and honest about, especially given how pricey it is. As PP mentioned, better that they can support you, especially in the case of you having to discontinue.

What dosage were you on? I’m on week 3 at .25 and my doctor has prescribed refills at .25 but I a, wondering if I want to go up in dosage.

I take Ozempic and keep it in the fridge on the door with the bottles of condiments. No one has ever said anything or noticed.

Same, OP. Same. I have mine wrapped in foil inside a Tupperware container in the back of the veggie drawer where no one will ever find it. Yet I still worry, lol. Just don't want any possible judgment.

I was given a 1-month trial box (4 pens) by my weight loss doc and he did not say anything about refrigerating it. I've put the box in the fridge just in case...

I identify with your weight loss history, OP. I'm hoping this medication will make a difference this time. Please don't be dissuaded by online reports of terrible side effects. I have had zero side effects in my first month. They may come later but, for now, I'm not experiencing any. The best part so far is that the medication seems to quiet intrusive thoughts about food. You still have to reduce calories, but it's a bit easier to do so with the medication.

I put my second pen in the fridge, but not the first one. I’ve only told one friend and my spouse about it. I’m very overweight – 65lbs over the top end of a healthy BMI.

The friend is totally nonjudgmental and has a history of severely disordered eating, so she’s along for the ride as much out of sheer curiosity as support. Nobody else needs to know. I’m very private person.

I take Ozempic and I keep it in the fridge because I buy a lot at a time but it doesn’t need to be per the manufacturer as you noted if you’re using it in a timely manner.

Even your spouse? I could not do that, though I would not tell my kids. I think if they say it is fine out of the fridge for 28 days, then yeah, 21 is fine. My walk-in closet is freezing in the winter. I'd keep it there in the winter.

Curious, when you say 40 pounds overweight, do you mean 40 over ideal or 40 over the line between healthy and overweight BMI?

I keep mine in the fridge. No one has ever asked about it. But in my family they also don’t see the items on the stairs that need to go up, can’t find the ketchup on the fridge door, and often have no idea where they placed anything. So my family are not the most observant.

My doctor wrote the rx, and I went to 3 pharmacies to find it. I am 40 pounds overweight, and have done WW, Noom, and so many others. I have been at my "lifetime" or goal weight a half a dozen times in my life, and always gain the weight back, and feel miserable the entire time I am dieting.

Fingers crossed this works and if it does, I am willing to take it forever.

Quick question: do you keep it in the refrigerator? The pharmacist said it could stay 28 days unrefrigerated, and I plan to use the four pens within 28 days (actually 21 days including today, day 1, 7, 14, 21).

You might wonder why I'm asking, and I will tell you the truth: I do not intend to tell my family I am taking this drug.
