I’m not sure if it works the same in all schools, but the student government executive board (there are no officers) are elected from students in these classes (multiple sections). The leadership students together put on the beginning of the year kick-off event, Homecoming, all spirit weeks, International night, and numerous other events. There is no Homecoming committee that other students can join, for example - it’s all these kids doing the work.
Is this considered a co-curricular class? Could she list it (and how?) as an EC on the common app? She’s a junior, and the class requires a lot of non-class work. She’s got to weigh the cost/benefit of her commitments for next year.
If your kid takes the class and doesn't get chosen to head up anything, is it just a big whiff?
