More remarkable is the son he didn't know he had. James Raymond was given up for adoption by his birth mother in 1962 and became a successful jazz musician in his own right. When he finally contacted his birth mother in the '90s, she told him his father was Crosby. He said he always knew one of his parents must have been a musician. Once they met, James and Crosby performed and recorded together for years. You can hear when jazz chords started making their way into the music.

Biggest regret was not seeing him when he played at the Birchmere a few years back.

Yes, just heard this on NPR, where they did a beautiful tribute for him. We will listen to some Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young music at our house tonight.
