But it sounds like you are particular about those things bc presumably a minivan is no longer cool (even if it meets your needs best) and it sounds like you are exclusively focused on EVs.

+1 - we have a Odyssey and a Y. We drive the Y when it's just 4 of us. Whenever it's a larger group, we drive the Odyssey.

Gas savings are real, esp if you can charge at home. We use superchargers on road trips, and the cost is $10-15 for 200 miles of charge. (Each place has different charging fees.) The Tesla app figures we save at least 50% on charging vs gas based on where we charge/live.

Which other EVs would you recommend? We can figure out alternatives to the road trip part but storage space is def. a concern. Not looking for another minivan however..

NP.. presumably, they wanted to let the OP know about the last part -- they owned 4 Teslas and all sucked. Not to say there aren't satisfied customers, but since OP is asking for opinions..

Savings on gas is real but if you really need all the space of a minivan and do a lot of long distance trips it might not be the best option for you.

Pacifica has a hybrid minivan which avoids the need for gas on trips around town but it can be hard to find.

We are the proud owners of an 18 y.o. minivan (Honda Odyssey) that simply can't be beat on many factors (trunk space, leg room, small footprint, etc). Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and the van is pushing 200K miles and needs to be replaced soon (6 mo to 2 years). We've used it a lot on long distance trips (therefore need good legroom and trunk space) and kids have been replaced with older family who we need to take along on occasion.

We are not particular about non-value factors like the environment or owning something 'cool' like an EV. We currently fill up the tank on both vehicles about twice a month, about $200-$250/month and expect that to continue.

Questions:
- With the recent price reduction for the Model Y, would it be a good replacement for a minivan?
- How good is the legroom in the 7-seater (tall family)?
- Are the gas savings claimed real and not replaced by charging fees?
- Did anyone go from a minivan to a Model Y and are completely satisfied with their decision?
- The Model Y (grey color, 7 seater) prices at $58K. What other SUVs are out there that are in the 35-50K price range and give me all the things I want (smallest possible footprint, 7-seater, trunk space, etc.)?
