No, you were rude. There was no need to get in the “normal people” dig. All the normal people I know have mulch delivered and pay their lawn crews to spread it.

The delivery services will dump the load in your driveway. Sometimes I spread if myself using a wheelbarrow but I usually hire our lawn guy to do it.

Forgot to add, RELS will also deliver bagged soil and mulch so you don’t have a mess on your hands if you can’t handle it immediately. At the time I ordered their trucks had a capacity of 8 cubic yards for bulk delivery.
Depending on where you live your county might also offer compost delivery.

NP - I'm interested in the same. I need soil, compost, and mulch for a large garden bed.

I've looked into buying bags of soil and mulch from Home Depot and for what it's worth, delivery is a flat rate of $79 for things like that. So you can compare that with what you were paying and see if it's cost efficient. They'll leave a palette in your driveway.

However, I feel like buying bags is probably more expensive than a local delivery service that deals with stuff in bulk, pulls up with a truck and dumps it in your driveway. So I'm interested in seeing any recommendations.

I have 4 large raised beds that need to be topped up before the planting season begins. In the past we’ve had a garden company do it. They charged us a ridiculous amount of money for labor and I don’t want to pay that again. We’ve also just bought tons of bags of compost at American Plant and done it ourselves, but it wasn’t quite enough and it was also super expensive.

Anyone know of a good source for compost that I can get delivered in bulk? And anyone know how I can calculate how much to order? I think I need about 5 inches depth per bed, they’re 12 feet long by 2.5 feet wide.
