The problem is that driving is largely habitual, people indulge in multiple layers of distraction, and they are more being taken for a ride by a powerful machine than actually driving it.
There is something called the “Smith System.” It’s five key points are 1. Aim High · 2. The Big Picture · 3. Keep Your Eyes Moving · 4. Leave Yourself an Out · 5. Make Sure They See You. These are easy to articulate but it really takes a meticulous instructor and an attentive student to put the ideas together with real life experience in space and time.
It would be helpful if your daughter bore some consequence to help her identify and learn from her mistakes, and encourage her to improve her attention and skills. You are justifiably upset about the greedy behavior of the insurance company in raising rates when it suffered no loss. You justifiably want a person who sounds like they failed to yield and then misused their brakes. But the fact remains that your daughter struck a stationary object (sounds like too big a hurry and/or lack of care), and failed to anticipate another driver’s (mis)behavior. Focusing on how you/your daughter have been wronged will get you nowhere. It’s much more productive for your daughter to identify her own part in these unfortunate events and work to develop better habits and skills.

This one is a hit. My car drives. I have to file claim which I did as other driver will anyhow.
She can’t pay any of insurance hike. She is in college, she needs car at college. Her major she has to drive to a hospital twice a week and she lives off campus. So I have to suck it up another 18 months.
A third accident she gets dropped and will be uninsurable.
I am really pissed as I was calling the Erie agent literally tomorrow to try get better rate and she had another accident.
I reported to my insurance company. So that sucks. But other women tried to file police report. So I knew she is up to something. Police did not come. Apparently the no longer do police reports or come to scene unless an ambulance is needed. But mere fact she called tells me she was trying to document something.
For now I only care about my rate.
Ok twice you’ve said you were annoyed that the owner of the car YOUR DAUGHTER HIT called it in to their insurance but then didn’t follow through. What is wrong with you? This isn’t the time to blame others. Yes they both will go on your policy and there will most likely be an increase. Your daughter has a problem that you need to address. Is it drinking like a pp suggests? Your daughter could kill someone while intoxicated and then you will have much more serious problems. If she was not intoxicated I would like to suggest a good driving program for her we sent both of our kids to a cop-run driving school. Money well spent. Neither has ever had an accident or a ticket
