Yes girl, I have been there, pretty much the same situation as you with about the same weight gain. For me I need a really strict food routine and the holidays threw me off. Make sure you have healthy foods available for those hunger pangs and get right back on the horse.

How did you lose the weight and what is your plan to keep it off?

To maintain you need to eat how you ate to lose, but add in a little more calories to figure out your maintenance. There is some trial and error in this.

If you’re not ready to lose yet, still track calories to confirm you’re only eating to maintain your current weight.

If you need help finding your maintenance or deficit daily calories, do a search for Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) calculator. This can help you identify your caloric needs, and they usually have options for you to find your deficit for a .5 lb, or 1 lb per week lose.

This is what I would do - not the scorched earth. Whatever works for you/others may vary, but for me, I think it's best to live life in a way you can maintain and not feel deprived or resentful. Spike/lose/spike/lose/spike/lose sounds exhausting. Like rough waves at the beach. A lifetime of gentle waves sounds peaceful.

Congrats on losing the weight in the first place, and I hope your reflux is controlled and you are feeling better.

Its normal.

My advice is to go scorched earth to lose the weight and then go back to normal. That is what works for me. I know a lot of people say to diet slowly. But I would rather be hungry for a month and get it over with vs being on a 2 month diet to do it slowly.

In any case, you will gain and lose weight several times. Accept this as normal and expected during the holidays, vacation, etc. And then do what youve got to do.

Is there any way you can get rid of all the foods that trigger you?

You can do this OP - you did it once, and not that long ago. This is just a blip, get back on the horse! Let's go!

I’ve spent most of my adult life 10-25 lbs overweight, depending on the year. Several months ago I was diagnosed with reflux and some
other gastric issues and finally lost the weight. Since the holidays, my weight has been creeping back up. I am now 6 lbs back up from my lowest and I feel myself getting frustrated and losing control. Anyone been there? Any words of encouragement? I will be so disappointed in myself if I gain it all back, I could use a pep talk.
