This. And Pls offer to watch kids, too, if it’s a sandwich generation situation. Some of us are drowning in eldercare w young elementary kids and never get a break.

Make sure the parent stays appreciate. If the parent is difficult, support your sibling and encourage the parent to be gracious.

My sibling thought sending me a bunch of junk she bought online was doing her part. I asked her to stop sending me stuff I don't want or need and to instead encourage mom to be gracious not just to us, but to doctors, nurses, helpers. Instead my sibling complained to mom that I told her to stop sending me a bunch of stuff. That created drama and stress.

-Take care of financial aspects and bill paying
-Agree to provide coverage for you to go away occasionally, whether it’s them or they hire someone else
-they take care of purchasing any needs
-do prelim research on drs (find ones that are close,
Make sure there is easy parking, that the take their insurance, how they are rated. Let them give him a couple to choose from that they vetted
-have them set up video calls with them/their kids so they have something to look forward to and you have a few min of peace; if your elderly one is able they can even play games together online to pass the time

Calling the parent to listen about their day and telling interesting parts of your day can lessen caregiver's duty to provide small talk.

-pay all the bills that are not automatic drafted
