If I had the option to put your kid on a better path, I'd do it. Sadly, you're probably the only one with that option.

Talk with friends and neighbors with seniors or graduated students from your DC's school. They have recommendations for you.

My kid has been well cautioned against adopting such a doomed ideal--guaranteed to lead to disappointment, either when the school rejects them or when they get there and discover its warts.

We used Prep Matters for ACT prep and essays. They were terrific.

I can help with essays and college selection. Free of charge, but you would need to post here (which is not suitable for essays, but is for college selection).

I know this is not really what you are seeking, however this may prompt additional responses.
