+1 to charging network. Anyone who says differently is deluded. Taking a non Tesla car on a long road trip requires much more planning and a real risk of not finding a fast charger or having to wait a long time for one. Hopefully the infrastructure will catch up and non Teslas will be able to use the Tesla network in North America. Until then, non teslas are not a reliable long distance car.

The charging network isn't vastly superior anymore, and the infrastructure bill had lots of money to expand it. Apparently states are coordinating so that, for example, you don't have 1 charger on either side of the state border but instead the chargers are 15 miles or whatever apart. Also, Musk made his chargers proprietary in order to lock other cars out of his network, which means that stations installing electric chargers need to install both types for twice the price--proving Musk isn't really in it for the environment.

Get an Ionic from Hyundai instead. Technology is better, reliability is better and the company is not tanking.

We pay 375 for model x. Not in dc. We have only had a couple of minor issues - we took it in once for faulty sensor and once for wheel alignment (but that was because an outside company messed up snow tire placement). Lack of maintenance is great - no oil changes or fluids other than wiper fluid. We have done 5 long road trips, and had no problems.

$486 per 6 months fr a 2022. We do have a teenage driver without their own car so I’m not sure what that does to the price.

I'm not in DC but we pay $350 for our MY per six months through GEICO.
