definitely worth it to tour both Clark and WPI when you are there. My DS is CS but did not think Clark was a robust enough program for what he was looking for (not game design). WPI has generous AP credit and many students can get an MS within the 4 years or graduate a semester early.

some of the WPI off campus housing is basically in between Clark and WPI so could have students from both in the area. WPI bought up a bunch of Becker College housing to use as dorms in that in-between area as well, but it is interspersed with off campus houses for both schools.

Check out the e-sports and gaming program at Assumption, up the street from WPI, if Clark and WPI aren't appealing to DS for whatever reason.

+1. Clark is a lovely school, but expand your search if you are visiting Worcester. There are a number of solid schools (Assumption, WPI, Holy Cross, though HC is increasingly competitive) in different areas of the city that might appeal to your family as much or more than Clark.

what does your child want to study? There are quite a few other schools in Worcester that you may also want to look at while you are up there.

My DS is going to look at it because they are really known for their geography program.

OP here- this is super helpful, thanks. We are going to visit in February. We are not looking for a T20 obviously, but I do want dc to attend a solid school with a strong reputation.

I’ve never here that. My grandpa went there though! It for sure changed his life—first in family to go to college and he continued on for a master’s.

We looked there with my oldest son and really liked it. He got in and was offered lots of merit aid but ended up at his ED school. My current high school junior visited Clark in the fall and really liked it, too. They have a few particular programs that he's interested in and the grittiness of Worcester doesn't bother him at all. We've found the students to be very friendly. We know one student who graduated last year and she had a great experience. She loved the collaborative and supportive student body after being at a very intense, competitive high school. People will knock if because it is one of the Schools That Change Lives (and DCUM really hates those schools) but we were impressed and I'd be very comfortable with one of my kids attending.

Love it. Son having a very positive experience after transferring from elsewhere. Strong school
