Or an IUD with hormones. Many women stop ovulating with hormonal IUDs and then she doesn’t have to remember to take a pill. I won’t pile on since others have covered that, but remember that this is not her fault and she’s suffering too. More discipline will not fix PMDD.

Talk to her doctor! My DD had to go on birth control at 14 to help with her terrible cycle and mood swings.

OP, please don't send her away. This is clearly not a choice of hers, so don't treat it like it is. It's a medical event. Go to a MD.

PMDD is a thing that exists.

No, first she needs a complete physical and psychiatric check-up, OP. It's likely she has a severe case of PMS, but it can be compounded by ADHD or ASD, or other mental health issues - but first, it's standard medical practice to do a physical exam, just in case there's anything going on that can be easily fixed - anemia, thyroid disorders, etc. If everything is fine on that front, you do a full neuropsychological examination.

Now, if you've done that already, you should have mentioned it, because it's very important. You cannot suddenly decide you're done raising a kid with issues and want to ditch them, without having done the bare minimum of medical/psychiatric care!

I feel I spend my time on DCUM telling parents not to abandon their kids, when it appears they're suffering from poorly managed mental health issues, and the parent is totally clueless and just wants to abandon them to their fate. Just responded to a similar post about a 19 year old whose parents wants to push out of their home. And then downthread, they mention she has ADHD. It's awful the way some parents just don't have a clue about mental health.

What is wrong with you?!? Your #1 solution is to send her to your abusive father that you wouldn't wish on anyone rather than bringing her an actual doctor? If she's not like this at any other time, this is medical and requires a professional not your abusive dad and mother who permitted it.

She breaks things, screams/screeches like an insane person again and again (not saying anything -- just screeching), runs away, cries constantly, and makes up lies about us.

As an example, we couldn't have her go to school for mental health reasons because she was having one of these breakdowns one day and needed to sleep, and she lied and said that we weren't allowing her to go to school. Luckily, the school believes is (because we have other kids and they can see that she's irrational). If the school didn't, we would have gotten in trouble.

It's been a year and a half (yes she got her period early) and it's not getting better.

Here are my ideas:

1) send her to live with my parents. My dad is a military guy and I was raised in a very different situation that I wouldn't wish on anyone but maybe it would make her grateful to be with us.

2) send her to boarding school.

3) homeschool (there are some advantages with this because she's having a bad day about once a month and that once a month would be easier for me if she could just sleep in every day)

4) ???
