The Cuisinart gets by far the best reviews (see PP above). That’s what I bought and I love it. We use a Chemex for coffee and make a lot of tea, so I like how huge it is and how it stays hot for 30 minutes without resetting. The only negative is that it has some small plastic parts.

I just replaced a 20 yo kettle that I got as a wedding gift. Maybe Krups? I don't recall the brand.

I have a stainless steel Hamilton Beach - but of course, I have no idea how long it will last!

I asked this about a month ago. Several people said the cuisinart (and it’s top rated from wirecutter) but I ended up getting a Fellow, which is smaller but prettier in my mind.

How long did it last? For us, it’s an environmental concern. E really want the things we spend money on to last, but have a barely umc budget. We can afford something nice, but not ridiculously so.
I’ve had it a few years, so far so good.

Well, I have a vintage GE kettle that I took with me to college that still works well. It looks sort of like this:

I have a Redmond kettle that’s great — but I haven’t had it for 7+ years yet.

Most of the time I heat water in a saucepan that’s at least 15 years old on the stove that’s at least 20.

If for tea, I 10000% recommend the Breville.

Best thing you can do is look for one at a thrift store in terms of the environment.

Our electric kettle from Chef’s Choice International died this morning after about 7 years. Anyone have any good recommendations for a sturdier one? I hatte planned obsolescence and would spend more on one that would last longer. Does this exist?
