Last year I believe Potomac's first grade added 3 students and one was because of attrition (not a sibling). This year, the second grade added 1 - also because of attrition - and it also went to a non-sibling.

Maret accepts 4-6 kids in 1st grade. They don’t accept any more until 4th unless an enrolled child leaves for some reason.

1st is a bit of an entry year at Potomac. Not as big as K but 6 openings. 2-3 are attrition only and in my experience most times they go to siblings (either siblings of those aleady at the school in upper years, or siblings of those who are also applying for entry years. Usually 2-3 get in...

GDS has some slots in 1st - not many but a few - and some in third. Each year there are a few spots for attrition. Just apply and see. Maybe only one gets in to one of these schools and then you get the other in another year.

Slots are just filled if kids leave the school. The schools typically won't go above their ratio goals regardless of who applies.

Zero. If it's not an entry year, there are zero slots so the only openings are by attrition or if a current student has to repeat a grade (which I have occasionally heard of in 1st but never 3rd)
