Lol true but not being from the NJ/DE line, I don't offhand know where to go there either. After crossing the DE line, I'd be driving another hour north - and I was hoping for a rec in southern Del, just over the MD border.


I am a firm believer that if you are from NY or NJ, the best pizza you'll ever have is from your hometown pizza place (for me, Pizza Como in Clinton, NJ). But, out of curiosity, I have found the Italian Store to be an acceptable substitute (certainly better than a 2 hour drive). You don't agree?


New p here, I will add to this that I think everyone wants their hometown pizza. I’m from the Midwest and miss pizza from my hometown. I don’t expect DC to reproduce it though. My family who lives here in DC thinks it’s horrible. I get it when I go visit.

The most decent? Pete’s new haven style Apizza in friendship heights (rip their Columbia heights location)

This, or Mamma Lucia’s in Fairfax in the Fair City Mall (it’s in the section where the movie theater is). Those are the two in NoVA I’d recommend. They really are like proper NY/NJ style slices. Try them first.

Anything crossing the boarder into Jersey will be heads and tails better than any of the garbage they serve in MD<VA Or Del

New Haven style is the best. Pepe's at Montgomery Mall is the best but still not as good as the original in New Haven, CT.

Andy's is good pizza, but it's not NY/NJ pizza.

I tried Andy's first as that one had the most recommendations. haven't hit up the others yet.
