Dr. Rotunda Floyd-Cooper was principal of MLKMS in Beltsville for about 4 years I believe, and has rocketed up the ranks since moving to Montgomery County 3 years ago — served as a director (supervising principals) and is already Area Associate Superintendent in MCPS.

I hope what you mean is that most people don't care who runs. I find that most people, especially people who don't have school age kids, don't pay attention to who runs for school board. For several years, our district was represented by a college drop out whose major accomplishment was that she was a cheer coach. She was inept but kept getting reelected. It doesn't help that our Board members only get paid $27K a year (used to be $18K). The only reason most qualified people would run is as a stepping stone to other things.
The Board manages a $2.3 billion dollar budget. We deserve better.



I think that the poster is trying to say that black people will always vote for black people no matter what.

This makes me so sad. She was a great leader. For someone of her caliber to leave because Board members can't act like adults is depressing.
