We stayed here and it worked out great. Very centrally located and clean.

I would go on Expedia and adjust to more mid scale lodging and motels in Jackson Hole. (Example, an independent 2 or 3 star hotel, not a 4 star hotel like Hilton or Marriott).

Once you find one thats well rated, go and boom directly one their website, and not on Expedia. You should get a better deal and less hassle if you have to cancel.

Maybe try some spots in Wilson, or even over the border in Idaho?

I did a quick search on Hilton.com and summer is expensive in Jackson. Hampton Inn was $600 per night and Homewood Suites was $900 per night. I’m not familiar with Yellowstone lodging, but it should be cheaper. The thing with park lodges, as you probably know, they fill up fast. We stayed at park lodges in Grand Canyon and Zion. Had to pretty much set a reminder to book when reservations opened- they go that fast.

Good luck finding something, sounds like a great trip. Finally, if Yellowstone and Jackson don’t work out, I can’t recommend South Dakota enough. Badlands, Custer State Park and Black Hills are great. It’s not Wyoming, but it’s spectacular and it’s much cheaper and not nearly as crowded.

Colter Bay cabins - they may seem like they’re all sold out (haven’t checked myself) but keep checking - I love staying there! Great location right in the park!

I think we’re adjusting on price here. But, we’re more motel people than resort people.

I also liked Jackson Lake Lodge. I have heard good things about Signal Mountain Lodge.

I love Jackson Lake Lodge and second getting a Mountain View room. It is one of my favorite hotels. I love hanging out at the bar at sunset there. It's just gorgeous. DH doesn't care for it in the summer because it doesn't have AC. Non-issue for me but hard for him. Otherwise, you should be able to find something close to your budget in Jackson Hole or Teton Village. We like Jackson Hole better because there are some fun restaurants. Our kids like Snow King Resort in Jackson Hole because it has a good pool and they can walk out to Snow King Mountain which has some fun summer activities for them. Snow Kind Resort is usually reasonably priced. If you're there during the rodeo, you must go!

You may be right. Under $300 in yellowstone is doable. Since they’re right next to each other I thought prices would be similar. But I guess I’m wrong.

We stayed in a ski condo in Jackson. It was an easy drive into the park each day.

You could look at the ski area. We stayed there in the summer. It was pretty fun.

I’m planning a trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons for this summer. I have the yellowstone portion booked, but not the grand Tetons portion. We’re a family of 4 (kids are elementary school aged). I’m hoping to find lodging for $300 a night or less. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
