Chose this over the Subaru in the first place I like it better. Would be replacing with some other wagon though bc I love wagons. Not an SUV.

I was getting just under 18 mph from my old 4.2l V8 Audi S4 Quattro. Something seems off.

It’s the AWD. I have some heavy stuff in the car too at the moment.

Sell. If you had a different car I'd say drive it into the ground but with a VW you're lucky you haven't had to spend too much yet and 18 mpg is genuinely ridiculous.

Sell, take the $20k, and put it down on a hybrid Honda, Toyota, or Subaru.

OP here and adding, it was $28K new and I paid it off 2 years ago. So no car payment currently. Just wondering if I should go for the maybe $20K it would fetch now vs drive it for longer and then have to pay more for a lightly used car later plus maybe repairs.

See what Carmax, Driveway, Vroom etc. are offering. Used car prices will continue to drop with new vehicle prices holding steady through the Spring (depending on supply chain shutdowns). You are probably okay keeping it for another 2-3 years if fluid changes and routine maintenance is up to date. Have you checked condition of spark plug, ignition coils s add nd PCV valve? Keep an eye on oil consumption/gasket leaks, engine mounts, CV boots and suspension (struts, control arms, ball joints and bushings). Timing chain replacement at 100,000+ miles.

With only 50k miles on it, I'd keep it, but I like to drive my cars into the ground.

2017 VW Alltrack with 50K miles. Average about 10K miles/year. Gets ~18mpg bc of AWD. Has been a great car. New tires 1 year ago and only one repair (fuel injector line) bc rodent chewed it. Keep going or sell now?
