Purple Patch in Mount Pleasant makes delicious burgers! They are thick and juicy and come with skinny crispy fries. Yum. Now you have me craving one….

OMG $11??!!??

I don't eat beef so always get the veggie sandwich at Five Guys. That seems to be under $6, which is fine by me, but wow. $11 for an average sized burger!

City Sliders in DC or (if you want a short day trip to a small bay beach town) in North Beach, MD.

Honestly, in the DMV, I’d stick with McDonald’s. Or maybe try Clyde’s.

Side note -

I walked into Five Guys recently and a burger there is close to $11. That’s nuts. Walked out.

Went to Shake Shack yesterday and the burger was too well done. Crispy on the outside from the griddle and almost crunchy when biting it. Price was more reasonable than Five Guys..$6.50 I think. I laughed when the credit card machine asked for a tip. Next McDonalds will be asking for tips.

J Gilberts -Mclean. $14.50 served with fries or sweet potato fries, standard fixings, and includes the cheese. Not greasy like 5 Guys.
5 guys - cheeseburger 11.39 + small fries 4.79= $16.18

So we were also surprised at the 5 guys prices.

Shake Shack's cheaper than Five Guys if you like smashburgers.

OP - in Bethesda

I don’t want fast food of my youth - McDs, Burger King, Wendy’s.

I want a good burger and will pay a reasonable price.

Re: Five Guys. I am just surprised how much their prices have sky rocketed. I’ll easily pay $11, but not there

But it comes with fries... whereas the FG's one does not... so in the end, they are equivalently priced.
