Fitbit for activity and weight. I tend to repeatedly add and then delete calorie and macro counting apps . I'm torn between believing that tracking helps prevent overeating, and thinking that it just creates obsessions. I just ordered a cute food log off amazon, though, and am going to try to track on paper more loosely than I did on the app and see if that helps take some of the pressure off that apps create.

(By "pressure" I mean the paper log won't tell me that I'm over my carb count or haven't had enough of some micronutrient or whatever. I know how to eat healthily, and don't like the stress that the negative feedback from the app sometimes causes. I've found that sometimes when I think I've had a "good" day they app says I haven't, and that causes me to say f it and overeat. Clearly this is a "me" problem and not the app's fault, but I still don't want to deal with it).

Fitbit to track to activity and calorie expenditure, MyFitnessPal to track food and google spreadsheets to log my workouts.

I just use my bathroom scales and write the new low number into the calendar that hangs in the kitchen.

I use Happy Scale for weight. I used Lose It and Carb Manager for food tracking until I got the hang of it and didn’t need to track anymore. And I take photos every month or two.

Thank you for your posts. How could an Apple Watch help with tracking? Does anyone use one? I don’t have a Fitbit.

I have many suggestions:

Paper journal - week at a glance where I can mark what's generally going on such as I'm trying a new exercise routine, new food experiments given that I'm always trying to control calories but not be hungry, am I traveling? Dinners out etc? What's working or not

Myfitness pal or WW tracking apps - WW has a good "blue dot" system where you can see how many blue dots you get in a week/month

Oura ring - sleep trends and scores

Good luck

I have a lot of apps I use. LoseIt for my food and weight, my scale has an app, my Fitbit app, and sometimes Nike Run Club for my runs. Goals and progress completely depends on what they are. Weight related? Fitness? Health?

Is there a planner on the market that people love? An App?
