I think it depends on the teacher. My daughter's teacher now -- I've never heard her even mention it. My son's 2nd grade teacher used it a lot, but she's not there anymore. I would call the school and ask for a tour and ask the principal or vice principal.

but they do have a weekly computer class.

We go to St. Joe's and our kids go there.

No, there's generally not any political messaging. I'm middle of the road, but lean left, and i think the church is very middle of the road, but maybe slightly right leaning. I'm not bothered by it. when Roe v. Wade was overturned, one of the priests talked about it being a good decision, and i was a little turned off, but it's also the Catholic Church, so what did you expect?

The Friars are absolutely involved in a very positive way. Fr. David and Fr. Matt are awesome. Fr. Tom is older and more chill, but he also gives a good sermon.

Strict in following the rules -- I'm not totally sure what you mean by this, but, for example, if they wear something that's not uniform code, the teacher will just remind the student he/she can't wear that. i don't think it's a big deal. i think the school admin is generally very understanding.

consequences when rules are broken? neither of my kids is a trouble-maker, so i don't really know the answer to your question. there are definitely consequences -- i've heard of students being asked to not return and suspensions. i do feel like the school is respectful. Some teachers are nice/better than others -- it just depends.

Does anyone here attend St. Joseph's Catholic Church and/or send their children to SJS?
We attended St Josephs on and off, so I am familiar with the church. But since Covid we've dialed things way back. So it's been a while.
My main concern is with politics. I realize there are indirect politics, but I am not going to church/Christian school for a political opinion.

Is there political messaging during the sermons?
Are the friars involved at SJS in a positive way?
Are they strict in following the rules at school?
Are there consequences when rules are broken (respectful not demeaning)?
