Walk about 5 miles a day in them. They don't last long at all.

I like Brooks, but add a supportive insole. They're just too cushy and don't provide enough support for a high arch.

Asics are horrible for my feet now, they run so small now and I can no longer wear them they are not how they used to be. I like the Glycerin they have good cushion but do not last me more than 3 months, I have very flat feet. ghost caused ankle and knee pain for me. I like the glycerins for now but again I have to buy them constantly. The last few pairs the laces where REALLY short and very hard to tie...

Get the ghost if you must, or explore other brands .

Details please. Glycerins have been a miracle for me and my previously injured feet and knees. How can you believe no one should wear them, even if they weren't right for you? How many miles were on your Glycerins when you almost blew out your knee? At your suggestion I checked out running shoe geeks on reddit. There's a post from yesterday calling Glycerins "old faithful", they get pain with any other shoe they try. Everyone is different, that's why there are so many makes of running shoes.

Can you elaborate? I'm curious.

I'm appreciating this thread. I'm a decades-long Ghost wearer. I love them, and the Brooks toe box is fantastic because my toes need their space!

But I've had some foot issues lately and was thinking of upping my cushioning. Will go to the store (like a PP, I like Potomac River!) and ask to try the Glycerins.

I only wear Glycerins. I have orthotics for a couple foot problems and they only work with glycerins. I need the cushioning and the fit is just right.

I used the Nimbus for years and switched to Ghosts then Glycerin. The Glycerins are more cushioned and enjoying them for now. I do find the Glycerins don’t last as long as others tho

Asics Venture's toebox has always fit my bunion more easily than Brooks. But the cushion in Brooks is so much better that I am willing to go up half a size and wear tape on my bunion to protect it from getting a blister. I'm wearing Brooks Ghost now.

I have had ASICS Cumulus and liked them, I had them in wide (I don’t think my feet are wide otherwise), and they were roomy in the toe box. However the top toe area was knit and wore out somewhat quickly, but they were light and comfortable.

So, I'm not a runner, but I need a good pair of running/athletic shoes because I have foot problems.

Long story short - I wore ASICS for a long time and finally went to Potomac River Running when i needed new shoes. The guy there hooked me up with a pair of Brooks Glycerin and I love them. He told me ASICS are good and are good for some people but have a small toe box.

I love the Glycerin. Last I checked, it was the 1st/2nd most cushioned shoe on the market. The other is a Hoka model. I have no tried the Asics.

The Glycerine toe box is large, which is very comfy. It has a wide base, which I believe helps with stability and reducing fatigue. I have found Glycerins to be durable. And of course the cushioning is great.

Both are neutral shoes with ample cushioning. Anyone have experiences with either?
