Did you see the part where she has to woof it down in less than five minutes and she’s a vegetarian? If her parents weren’t vegetarian, she needs to learn it somewhere. Don’t be rude.

I’m a teacher and like these:

Cheese and crackers

1/2 pb sandwich if you are allowed nuts

Trail mix

Popcorn mixed with choc covered fruit

Homemade muffins with protein powder added

If you have a fridge (I don’t):
Yogurt with fruit and granola
Charcuterie plate
Smoothie. You can add Greek yogurt or even oatmeal to make it more stick to your ribs.

I fill a small thermos with steel cut oats mixed with peanut or almond butter, and a few raisins or dried cherries it stays hot all day, and is really filling — even if you only have time to eat a few spoonfuls. I’d add hot tea, cold water, and an apple or an orange.

Wraps are good: a high fiber wrap with hummus and ham or turkey, and an apple.

Pro Bar Meal bars make a good quick meal or filling snack.

While not ideal nutritionally, for convenience you might keep a shake (Carnation instant breakfast, Ensure, diet shake) that you can guzzle when you need something quick. I think they’d probably be vegetarian but you could check the labels to be sure.

+1 on hard boiled eggs. You need something quick and easy that isn’t sticky, doesn’t require a fork, and won’t stain. You can eat a hard boiled egg quickly, and it’s relatively low in calories. You can still have a regular lunch when you have time later in the day.

I’m a former teacher who has been on your schedule. Thanks for doing what you do!

I make my own Uncrustables, mostly PB&J and sometimes a few slices of deli meat and sliced cheese. I have something like this plugged in and tucked out out of the way. In it I always keep a bottle of fresh water, some kind of caffeine, a few protein bars, and my sandwiches.

I would make a smoothie with greek yogurt and banana--you can sip on it during class through a straw, just like if you're drinking water or cofeee like many teachers do. It'll keep you satisfied until lunch.

Half of a peanut butter sandwich always worked for me when I taught 5th grade.

I eat a lot of Greek yogurt for protein. I throw in a handful of granola grape nuts to bulk it up. I keep it in a cooler bag so I don't have to run to the fridge. Otherwise, yeah, nuts, bars, cheese sticks. Fruits and veggies take too much chewing and time to eat. That doesn't work when you've got 4-5 minutes.

I eat breakfast at 6am but don't get to eat lunch until 1pm. Even with including protein, fiber, fat and carbs in a breakfast, I’m starving by mid morning. Need vegetarian ideas beyond nuts, dried fruit or a protein bar to tide me over. Will need to eat quickly between classes. Thanks for ideas.
