At a 9 week US, I found out that the embryo had stopped growing 10 days earlier. If I'd had a US at 6 weeks, would it have shown that the embryo was not viable even though it was still growing? I'd prefer not to have false hope.

Also, I think it's insane OP can't get a US until 11 weeks. Try switching to another OBGYN.

+1. After a missed miscarriage that I found out about at my first appointment at 9 weeks, I asked to have an ultrasound at barely 6 weeks with my next pregnancy to confirm that the pregnancy was viable. Absolutely ask for an earlier scan based on your history. My OB and her team were very sympathetic to my situation and I hope that yours would be too.

Wow. Did you also have easy births? I assume that's why some women can have lots of children.

FWIW I have 5 children and I've never had any symptoms. I've never experienced nausea/vomiting, heartburn, food aversion etc. I just had a growing belly. Enjoy it.

Yes! I had HG for 4 pregnancies. This is my 5th and I was sure something was wrong because I had almost no symptoms. I have zero morning sickness and almost done with first trimester. So utterly strange. I do feel yucky at night and it started around 7 weeks. Had sono at 10 weeks and baby looks healthy. Apparently HG lessons with age, as I am more than 10 years older than the first time I did this...

In your shoes, I would express concerns about possible missed miscarriage, citing 1) your history; 2) disappearing symptoms; 3) significant anxiety. Play it up as much as possible. Practice specific, perhaps, but after my miscarriage I was able to talk my way into an early ultrasound surprisingly easily.

Best wishes to you. This is the worst stage of pregnancy imho. Different circumstances since I've never had HG or similar, but I tend to have little to no symptoms in the first trimester and I know it can be stressful.

It’s possible to have wildly different symptoms this time, even if your first two pregnancies were similar. With my second pregnancy, the nausea started by 6 weeks, which was earlier than with my first. But with my third, I didn’t feel sick until 8-9 weeks. My hcg levels rose much more slowly that time and I didn’t even get a positive test until a week past my missed period.

I did also have an early loss once with a faint positive, but never developed any pregnancy symptoms, and got a heavy period a week later. So I understand why you are worried. If your test line is dark I would try not to worry right now.

Are you able to get an 8 week appointment with your OB? Mine would check for heartbeat at that visit, even if they couldn’t do an ultrasound.

I didn't even realize I was pregnant until 13 weeks. 6 weeks is nothing, particularly if you've never been pregnant before.

No symptoms have always been bad news for me, and I’d assume with your history you could get an ultrasound to confirm. Just ask for a nurse visit.

Are the first two the same gender, especially girl?

Definitely possible. I had horrible morning sickness with my one my pregnancies and weirdly, I didn't have morning sickness with either of my other pregnancies. All of my babies (now kids) were healthy and all pregnancies progressed well and were similar. 6 weeks is early too.

I'm sorry, OP, I know waiting to know is really hard!

Yes, it IS possible for the same individual to have varying levels of pregnancy symptoms, or none at all, and end up with a healthy baby! But I understand that your previous history is making you very nervous, and honestly, in your shoes, I'd be nervous too.

Hang in there. Distract yourself. Maybe beg the doc to have an hCG series done, so you can see the numbers progressing?

Yes. Many many people do not have symptoms at that stage. I had a successful pregnancy with no morning sickness ever (and unfortunately, had miscarriages preceded by pregnancy symptoms). Hang in there, I hope all turns out well.

Having had two pregnancies with HG, is it possible to have a viable pregnancy and so few symptoms at 6wks? I knew I was pregnant before the stick based on breast tenderness (still have) mild nausea (gone) and bloating (gone). Did a new FR rapid test today and got a dye stealer…For reference I have had 2 miscarriages at 7wks and 10wks in the past and had very minimal symptoms with those pregnancies too. So my baseline experience is that I’d already be pretty sick by now. Impossible to get an us until essentially due for NT, so just scheduled that but have to wait 5 more weeks.
