I sold my relatively new electric range (we were switching to gas) on my neighborhood list serve when we did our kitchen remodel. A neighbor across the street bought it and just wheeled it away on a dolley to his house.

Will Community Forklift pickup large appliances?

I also have donated my entire kitchen, bar area cabinetry and all appliances to Community Forklift in MD. Great organization.

We sold the range/microwave on FB marketplace. Price it low enough that someone will want to pick it up, and make sure you confirm they bring a truck and two strong people before you commit to the person! We sold them in a day, with many people who wanted to take them. They were only 6 years old though.

Craigslist or marketplace. Our dryer died on a Friday; Saturday my husband picked one up via Facebook marketplace. We’re months away from a kitchen/laundry Reno and I was grateful to have anything that worked for the time being.

We donated ours to Habitat for Humanity. They will arrange for pickup for a fee of approx. $100. You can deduct that and the value of your appliances from your income taxes.

I thought I would try to sell stuff but was so exhausted by packing everything up and living through the demo phase that I had no energy to deal with any of it. My contractor took everything away, to recycle I hope.

I usually have sold on FB marketplace. If I can’t sell them I list on the buy nothing FB group.

If you’re in DC area you can donate to Community Forklift, a non-profit reuse warehouse

I sold some stuff on Craigs list ($100 for newer and $50 for older but working) and donated others (posted as free)

What do people do with their appliances that work, but don't match the new design? Give them away or try to sell?
The fridge we are moving to the garage.
But what do I do with the perfectly functioning stove?
Dishwasher is older so I'm fine giving it away.
Microwave is in very good condition, but doesn't match ::sigh::
