Allergies.

I've had a 20 year long runny nose.

I take rotating antihistamines, have a whole house HEPA filter and a separate one in our bedroom, all hardwood floors, etc etc. All these things prevent the runny nose from becoming a sinus infection, but they don't cure it. My body adapted to find new things to be allergic to, like foods.

The one thing that has helped is a daily nasal rinse and, in the winter, steaming my face / sinuses with a facial steamer at least once a week or more.

Jeez - he can't get that treated? Allergy shots? HEPA air filter? Claritin?

Does it get better with masking?

DP. We had the green snot phase for 2 weeks, and just clear runny for 2 weeks. Now a dry sneeze. No sneezing before. Tested for everything, but it's just a bad cold exacerbated but the chilly weather. Make sure to run warm humidifier and blow nose often so it doesn't turn into a sinus infection.

it can be a reaction to dry air indoors.

Why not just take a nasal decongestant?

We forget what life was like before Covid. My father has had a runny nose for 60+ years, probably longer. It is and always has been allergies.

I am the pp who had a cold for one month. My cold continued to get better, but just wouldn’t go away. It was not Covid- I tested.

If you start to feel worse I’d get checked out for a sinus infection. Otherwise I’d just watch and wait.

I had a cold for a month too. I don’t know if it’s the cold variety or our immune system after Covid, but it did go away eventually. My DH got a cold recently and I couldn’t run fast enough to another bedroom to avoid catching it.

What could cause a runny nose (needing to be blown constantly) from the week before Thanksgiving till now, a week after Christmas, besides allergies?
No other cold or flu symptoms like coughing, headache, fever.
