Last year, his mother got a call from the mother of an another boy who "disappeared". The nephew did not know the boy well, but they hung out with common drug-dealing delinquents. The mother is emotionally co-dependent, and fears that if she kicks him out, then she will never see him again, or learn that he died.

My advice is to make home life very unpleasant. Take away house keys and car keys, take doors off hinges, take phones and computers. The boy is wasting and losing prime years of his life, so the term "loser" is sadly accurate. The man-boy has no place to go, no job skills.

Where do you find counselors for this?

Lol keep digging

NP here.

Only Jeff has the info to make the “troll” call here.

But if your troll-accusation is simply based on OP’s described scenario, then you are wrong.

So wrong, in fact, Jeff even created a separate forum filled mostly with threads about adults just like the one described by OP:

Title of the thread says "DS," content of the post says "nephew" If OP can't decided whether the story is about a son or a nephew, then it's made up and a troll

He hated high school, hates his father (who moved out last year), and pretty much hates everybody. He is better when he has a girlfriend. But otherwise, he is becoming a depressed loser.

He can't afford local housing on minimum wage, so must live at home. How can we get this man-child to transition to independent adulthood?

He's mentally ill. Approach it like that.

My nephew is obviously somebody's son. I prefer not to identify him or myself. His problems are transitional teen problems, not adult problems.

Last year, his mother got a call from the mother of an another boy who "disappeared". The nephew did not know the boy well, but they hung out with common drug-dealing delinquents. Seriously. I hate trolls that are bad at trolling. Such a waste.

He doesn't have to live at home. They let him. He can share an apartment on minimum wage. If he's got money for smoking and vaping he's got money. The police have been called to the house and he's punched holes in the walls? Toss his a** out.

If this is for real, charge him low rent to encourage working. And use the rent to fix up the house and the holes he's put in the walls.

Encourage him to go to trade school for the $$$ if he is talented at all with his hands.

And shouldn’t this bit of trolling be in the adult children section not tweens and teens? Troll fail.
