You can propose that he returns back to the gold, but you also need to identify a solution that works with him in regular seating.
Does he understand why he has been separated? Does he recognize that it is his behavior that landed him there? Do you understand that it is not just about him but also about his classmates’ experience? Is saying that he is “too social” accurate or whitewashing?
