Our soccer club has portable lights they set up when we have to use fields that don't have lights (dark comes early in Wisconsin, in October/November/March/April). I googled "portable outdoor lights sports soccer" and saw a rabbit hole that I don't have any business in.

Otherwise, I think a flood light attached to your garage would give some light. String lights would probably not give enough. I bet a company that lights backyard pool areas would have ideas.

They already are! They only come back inside when they can't see the ball. Funny enough they do have a light up ball but they don't like to play with it as it doesn't have the same feel as a real soccer ball.

Kids are in middle school so no more sandbox. And Tag is more like nerf gun battles. It’s mostly for soccer. They play travel soccer and often like to play for a few hours every day. Having another hour or so in the late afternoons and evenings will help keep play outdoors.

String lights are pretty but they do not provide much functional light. The flood light is the easiest path for useful lighting.

Then I guess you can do whatever you want, given safe wiring, up to and including flood lights on poles.

If your yard is not huge the you can set up exterior lights attached to your house.

Not just lighting up paths or specific trees or plants. We'd like to light up our yard so the kids can play past dark. I'm thinking a flood light attached to the garage which is adjacent to the yard? Or perhaps a string of lights around the perimeter of the yard (on the fencing)? Or both?

What have you guys used and if you have links, that would be super helpful! Thanks!
