Most schools used to be like that. Unfortunately, the people who used to be conservatives started branding previously neutral things as “progressive “. What would a “straightforward focus on academics without the pushing of political ideology “ look like to you, OP? What books would be ok? What topics and values would be off limits?

Be a parent. Be engaged. Parents are still the biggest influencers if you put your time in. You won't have to worry one way or the other as long as you are involved and available.

100% - moderate, apolitical people do not exist around here - at least not inside the beltway in quantities enough to make it significant. Find a school that is woke enough or conservative enough for you.

Yup, I agree. It’s hard to find moderate schools because fewer and fewer people are actually moderate these days. Schools have got to please somebody and that’s not going to happen by staying in the middle.

It’s very hard to find! Typically schools that avoid being woke swing too far in the other direction. I do not know why it is so hard to be moderate?

Judging from your question, you’re in NoVa. If that’s the case, any of the schools in that area would probably fit the bill for you (Potomac, Langley, etc). You’d probably find all of the DC privates too “woke” for you, even STA and NCS.

If having a book about RBG is “woke” to you, what you really want is a conservative school even if for
some reason you don’t want to admit it. Whether you agree with her politics and decisions or not, she was a trailblazer in terms of women having a high-powered career and that is noteworthy for little girls. Same is true for Sandra Day O’Connor and I don’t think most schools, other than the ones far on the left, would object to having a book about her as well. I think your “otherside” examples would be pretty unobjectionable to most schools.
