I can see how a stage production wouldn’t be as dark as a film. The Netflix cast was truly great but I wouldnt call this a “kids movie.”

I was tempted to show it to my sensitive 10 year old who lived the book and liked the other movie except for the really scary parts, like the closet. If the musical is darker we should wait a couple years
