Man you just don't know laziness and incompetence when it's sitting right in front of you. If they actually used surveillance they would end up having to arrest someone and then testify at trial. I'm guessing they pay their retired friends for this program and then do nothing with it other than put out a call that shots were fired in a neighborhood. Also, a lack of details about what it does keeps the wealthy DC homeowners at ease thinking gun violence will be prosecuted.

Ooga booga. "WhAT aRe THeY uSInG aLL tHe SurVeILLaNce FoR?"
Nothing. That's the problem. They are lazy and dysfunctional.
It's sad that I know more about crime in my neighborhood from accounts like killmoenews than I do from MPD.
It's sad that it's citizens who are posting videos of crap like maniacs with MD plates trying to run over cyclists, then finding they also have $1500+ in unpaid tickets AND STILL nobody in the city does anything. I read that MD and VA drivers owe DC $375 MILLION in unpaid fines.
We need people who will at least deal with the actual crime in our faces every day.
But here we are, with the paranoid conspiracy theorists, who think there are rooms full of people watching your every move waiting to pounce on you. We can't even get them to pounce on the actual criminals, you dopes.
If surveillance paranoia keeps the right wing nutjobs from bringing guns to a J6 coup attempt then it's already done its job in making the city a little safer.

DC should massively step up the use of cameras and drones to make the city safer
We use ShotSpotter all over the place in DC and it isn't proven to work. Why should its use be expanded?
Eric Adams is a despicable pile of human excrement.
Shot spotter is medieval compared to modern surveillance that exists in east Asia.

Like Adams, you must have read 1984 and thought the fascists were the good guys.
