IMO this is most MCPS MS. Incredibly lackluster and does a crap job of preparing MS kids for more rigorous AP classes in HS.

My neice went to Ridgeview then RM IB Stanford for college. Ridgeview did not stop her.
It might not have stopped her..but ridgeview definitely didn’t help her.

I have a 6th grader there. I guess every school has people with good and bad experiences. But so far we're happy. Academically DS has been doing great, which I had been worried about the transition and more independence. 11 year old boys are nuts, so they get ridiculous sometimes. Seems like at least DS's teachers enjoy the age group and manage it really well.

It's the same as any other MCPS school that provides many opportunities for those who are interested. Nevertheless, kids at that age are difficult everywhere.

We are districted to Ridgeview MS in QO cluster. I’ve heard mixed reviews. We have two HS babysitters who separately said it was a bad experience as the kids were “out of control(bad).” But middle school is crappy for everyone so not sure if it’s the school or just being a young teen…
DD is a sensitive kid who gets overwhelmed easily. Is already nervous about middle school (4th grade). Trying to decide if we stay in Ridgeview boundary, go private MS, or move. Not thrilled with ES either but it’s manageable
