Op here: happy to report that after 3 days, I was completely fine and tested negative Saturday morning. I did just keep alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen for the first 24 hours and then I just sucked it up. However, like you and the PP, Covid absolutely tanked my supply. It seems like it’s slowly coming up but I was producing almost half of what I normally produce in the thick of Covid. I’m really hoping it comes back completely but I do have around 200ozs frozen so I have that as back up.

When I was breastfeeding and had COVID I took cough medicine once a day too. My doctor said it was fine (baby was 9+ months by then and eating solids too).

I had covid while breastfeeding. It did suck. Tylenol and saline nose spray. I used the babyfrida brand I buy for my kids.

Did you look at the timestamp before you snarked at a sick woman with an infant? Most doctors aren’t taking calls at 10:30pm and it is why resources such as LactMED exist— yes—on the internet!

And I learned about LactMED by asking my doctor about an allergy medication and it’s what she used to give me an answer so it’s not like the resources a doctor has for this are so vast.

Tylenol is about all you could take anyway, but Afrin could help with the congestion and is better for breastfeeding than a systemic drug.

Feel better— hydrate like crazy!!

Husband and 7 month old tested positive for Covid on Sunday and I tested positive Monday. Both my husband and son are already 100% better but of course, I get hit the hardest. It feels like I have a head cold and I’m super congested. I’ve only been taking Tylenol but really wanting to take something stronger but everything I’ve read says I can’t take anything else or it either passes through my milk or dries it up. Has anyone else has Covid or congestion was breastfeeding? If so, was there anything you took that helped? Or do I just have to suck it up and get through this on just Tylenol ?!
