No way…same 😂 I’m quite nervous b/c she openly disparages the program and eagerly awaits its downfall. This is why GBRS shouldn’t be so heavily weighted—there’s nothing we can do to placate a teacher like that.

I would guess that many of the samples are from specific assignments given in January to make sure that every child has a chance to complete the type of assignments that are placed into packets, like the logic problems that kids explain their answers on the paper which demonstrate math skills, logic skills, and some writing.

Yes the teachers continue to collect work in January. Packets go to Central Committee usually the first week of February.

The schools know what kids have been parent referred and were in-pool, they will look to collect samples for those kids now. The AART will make sure to gather samples when they push in to the different classes to do projects.

The teachers, admin and AART will meet to discuss every kid who is in pool AND referred by parents sometime in January. No one has begin the process yet. They save all the work for this purpose. Teachers have writing folders and examples from lessons that the AART leads. They will have enough to submit for each child.

We decided to parent refer at the last minute. Does the school keep work samples for all the kids, or just those who are in pool and/or whose parents referred earlier in the year? My DC’s class is huge (31 kids) so I don’t know how they could keep track of everything.
