DS is also in 7th in a Jesuit school and sounds very similar to your DD. He does have dyscalculia (along with dyslexia, dysgraphia and ADHD). The not being able to recall times table is a big thing for him.

I would have her tested. It can only help if you find out she does have it. DS is allowed to use a calculator for everything which takes away the times table issue and allows him to focus on the problem not the math facts. He also gets extra time on tests if needed. His test grades are not fantastic but he makes up for it with classwork/homework. He's been able to maintain a high B average which we're thrilled with.

DD is in 7th grade at a Catholic school. She has always done just fine with grades in math, but she gets very frustrated with it. Honestly, I’m surprised her grades are as good as they are and suspect it’s because there are more grades for homework and class work completion vs tests.

Anyway, DD occasionally transposes numbers; she has trouble with some times tables and gets those wrong occasionally; she doesn’t seem to remember math facts/procedures on her own, but once we point out what she needs to do she seems to have a pretty good command of how to do it; she frequently confuses right from left; I suspect she has some mild ADHD/executive functioning deficiencies, but she has developed good habits that have helped her with studying, etc, so those are not a concern.

I feel like she might have minor dyscalculia and wonder if we should pursue testing. Thoughts on those who have BTDT?
