I find most of 355 to be very well timed. I am not down by Cedar very often though.

When did you work in that industry? Before 1930s?

You can contact the department of transportation. Either they need to revisit their timing algorithm, or there is a specific reason why they set it up like that.

And also traveling on Route 1 through Old town Alexandria. They are beautifully timed. You must not have worked in MoCo Transportation. It's clearly a mess.

Why aren't the lights timed better between Cedar and Old Georgetown? It seems you can never make more than 1 light unless you are going 10+ MPH over the speed limit. If it's to slow down traffic, that seems like a waste of our time, money, gas, and unnecessary pollution. It also encourages cell phone usage because we're all just sitting at lights while no one goes on the perpendicular streets. I live at one of these intersections and I always observe myself at a red light waiting to turn onto the Pike/355 while no one goes through the green lights on 355. Then once a bunch of cars show up, signaling the previous light has turned green, the light changes for them to red. It makes them speed up and fly through the yellow or red light. Anyone else constantly annoyed at these lights not being in sync?
